Forty-two - Written
Mar. 4th, 2012 11:44 amA few matters of housekeeping, as ever. With Una having moved on and Miss Parker being indisposed at present, the kitchen requires two supervising Wardens - one permanently for the lunchtime shift, one temporarily for the evening shift until Miss Parker recovers. If any volunteers would like to join me on a shift or two to see how the work is done, I would welcome them.
That we also need more Inmate volunteers for all three shifts barely needs repeating, I think. Whatever complaints you might have about the food [which he doesn't really understand, because meals are as good as they can possibly be with a limited staff undertaking mass catering] could be ameliorated if we had more staff.
On a different note, I will be leading guided meditation on deck, on Wednesday and Sunday, at 3-o-clock - starting today. I have found that in a constantly changing place such as this, being able to create a calm space in the mind for oneself has never been more valuable.
